Interview Petrissa Solja after Europeans Teams Championships title !

We have had the chance to talk with German Petrissa Solja after his victory in the Team Event in Schwechat, she is a very nice girl, who have won the US Open in U-21 in July, Wolrd number 57, whe sayd us his goals for the Single and Doubles Event. Read her and enjoy !




1. In the team event, you have won the title against Romania, even if you didn't play because Han Ying won his two matches, how was this match for you and your teammates?
It was a very difficult situation. Because all the matches were so close and I didn't know if I will play or not.
Of course I was hoping that they win, especially when it was 2-1 for us, but I still needed to be prepared for the last match
I was so nervous when I prepared and I always told me "yeah I want to play !"

2. Han Ying was very confident during this match, two victory against Dodean and Samara ! What a performance !
Yes, I have never see her playing like that before ! She played amazing and specially mentally she was/is very strong
It was even 2-1 and 10-9 for Samara and then Han Ying was attacking. That was very brave !
The match against Dodean I didn't see so much, because I was preparing. But it were so long rallies also.

3. You have played only one match in Team, so you have 100% of victory ! But were you a little disappointed to play only one?
The first match we played against Austria. I was expecting that I will at least play in that match. But the coaches decided different and I needed to accept it. Then we played in the semis against the Czech Republic and I didn't have so much hope that I will play because it were the semis and I didn't play one match before.
But then the evening before they decided that I will play on position 3 and I was so surprised and really sooo happy. Not even nervous or afraid of my first match. I just felt happiness !
But of course before the match I was really nervous but when I played it went and i played a very good match.

4. What rubbers and blade did you use for this match?
I was always sponsored by joola. All my family !
Mmm I don't remember exactly, since many many years.
My blade is Joola "Rosskopf Emotion"
And my rubbers are both Joola "Explode"

5. What are you goals in Women's Single? You are seeding 17, what results hope you?
There are many good players coming for the qualification. It's dangerous because I just played one match till now and the others more. It will not be easy. In the second Round I would play against Hu Melek. I have never played against her but she did many good results so far.
I hope to win my 1st match then I would play in the last 32. I would be happy if I take my chances and reach the last 16 or even more
everything is possible. I'm in very good shape here !

6. You play with Sabine Winter in Doubles, you are seeding 5, and you will play against England players, there is a defender in it, is it better for you, or not?
I play with Sabine Winter in doubles. We won the German Open last year and also the German Championships this year. We play very good together and we can always make surprises.
I think to play a defender is better for us.
I don't understand why we are seeded on number 5. We are in the world ranking the best Europeans.
At least they should seed us under the last 4. Normally they take the double World Ranking or the results from the last Europeans. But there is also one pair which never played Europeans before...
